Of petrol and ethanol
I must sit down and write again,
Rejoin the writer’s tribe,
And all I ask is some quiet place,
Where I can sit and scribe.
I must sit down and write again,
Of things I hear and see,
For the simple act of writing,
Is one that sets me free.
I must sit down and write again,
For the call of the written word,
Is a strong force and clear force ,
That demands to be heard.

As you can obviously see, poetry is not my forte - but it’s my blog, and I can put up what I want
Dad took my bike when he went to finish off some work. My dad and my bike are not very fond of each other. Every time he takes the bike out, he has some problem with it. This trip was no exception. As he was driving, the bike stalled and refused to start. Fortunately, dad managed to wheel the bike into a garage.
It seems that the petrol pumps have been mixing ethanol into the petrol. The percentage was quite low earlier. Now that the prices of crude have gone up, it seems that the percentage of ethanol in the petrol has also risen. The mechanics told dad that they would need to open the engine and reset the valves - at a cost of Rs.1200(appx USD 24). Dad hung around wondering what to do. Luckily, another mechanic came over and managed the start the bike. It seems that there is an additive that has to be added to the petrol/ethanol mixture in the ratio of 1 pouch to every 2.5 litres of petrol so that the valves stay in a working condition. Dad did as instructed and things seem to be fine now (touchwood!).
That’s all for now. Later all….
