Quote of the day
“It is cruel, you know, that music should be be so beautiful. It has the beauty of loneliness and of pain: of strength and of freedom. The beauty of disappointment and never-satisfied love. The cruel beauty of nature, and everlasting beauty of monotony.”
- Benjamin Britten
[Benjamin Britten is considered one of the greatest English composers of the 20th century]

I tend to think its a blessing that music can be so beautiful, but I can understand what Benjamin Britten means

I wonder if Benjamin Britten would maintain that point of view if he met with Eminem. Or Britney Spears. Or Backstreet Boys.
Or worse, all of them at once.

Well, everyone has a pain level. Of course, if Mr. Britten was into pain….he’d be in heaven
.
Oh - and in the case of monotony - he hit the nail on the last two. Eminem manages to cause pain in multiple ways.
