Mostly because some people are violently allergic to nuts and companies just have to save themselves the trouble of lawsuits. The disclaimer is basically some lawyer's idea of legal clarity which says that the pulp may contain nuts as part of other ingredients used in making the pulp. I think the most hilarious nutty warning is the one on the back of every packet of peanuts in the US: "Warning: contains nuts." Any product labels to do with nuts are just that - nuts.
